Extensionist.nl was born out of my deep love for beauty and creativity—a passion I’ve had since I was a little girl dreaming of becoming a makeup artist. Fifteen years ago, I took a big step toward that dream by entering the world of makeup, focusing on weddings and photoshoots. I enjoyed every moment, and as my reputation grew, I decided to open my own beauty salon. In those early years, I primarily focused on makeup and nails, creating stunning looks for my clients.

About ten years ago, after receiving countless compliments and requests from clients admiring my own hair, I decided to start offering hair extensions. I had been doing my own extensions for years, and they were such a success that it made perfect sense to add this service to my offerings. This allowed me to better meet my clients’ needs and introduce something new to my salon.

When it came to my eyebrows, I was quite stubborn—I didn’t let anyone touch them! So, I decided to learn permanent makeup myself. I enrolled in a school to master this art, not only to improve my own brows but also to understand the process from a client’s perspective, ensuring I could work with extra care and precision.

After completing a two-year masterclass at the Mieke Petiet school in Amsterdam and earning my diploma as a makeup artist, I knew I had found my true calling. Those years were some of the most beautiful of my life, filled with creativity and inspiration. As my skills grew, I naturally transitioned into permanent makeup, particularly eyebrow design, which perfectly complemented my makeup background.

Today, my salon focuses primarily on hair extensions and eyebrow tattoos, though my passion for makeup is still very much alive. Makeup will always remain a part of what I do, but enhancing natural beauty through hair extensions and permanent makeup—especially eyebrows and lips—has become the heart of my work. My journey has been driven by passion, creativity, and a desire to make my clients feel their absolute best. I look forward to continuing to do what I love for many more years to come.

And why wouldn’t I use other types of extensions? Because, in my experience, this type of extensions has never let me down.

How did I get started with hair extensions?

Well, I naturally had beautiful, thick hair. My hair was black, and as we all know: you always want what you don’t have. So, of course, I wanted blonde hair. I thought, “Okay, maybe it’s a good idea to find someone who specializes in black hair.” I found an Iranian woman in The Hague. Long story short: she burned my scalp, and I lost my beautiful long hair forever. Since then, my hair has never grown back the way it used to be.

I missed my long hair. Having shorter hair made me look older, and I just felt unhappy with myself. It was like seeing a different woman in the mirror.

This happened 15 years ago. I started looking for other options: wigs, half-wigs, you name it. I tried all kinds of extensions, but I never felt fully satisfied with them. I thought, “Okay, the way they do extensions is fine, but there’s always something wrong.” Like everything in life, I thought, “I’ll just learn how to do it myself, as I always do.”

Now, I’m proud to say that I can make hair extensions myself. I’ve mastered blending colors, so I don’t have to constantly dye my hair, and it always looks great. I’m very skilled at handcrafting clip-in extensions and sewing them to perfection. I’m also excellent at installing extensions for others.

Why? Because it’s my passion. Beautiful hair = happiness.

During the consultation appointment, we’ll discuss all the options and ensure a perfect color match. We kindly ask that payment is made on the same day. Once the payment is complete, we will immediately place the order for the hair. The extensions will be delivered to the salon the next day, so we can get started quickly.

We work with a distributor who provides beautiful, high-quality hair extensions at fair prices. It’s important to remember that cheap extensions are often low-quality. While they may look good initially, they lose their shine after the first wash and end up being unusable. On the other hand, extremely expensive extensions aren’t an option for everyone. That’s why we offer extensions that strike the perfect balance between price and quality. When we recommend a product, we do so with confidence because we know the quality is exceptional.

We only order the hair after a deposit has been made. We can help with a simple color match or, if you prefer, create highlights in your extensions. This is a fantastic option if you don’t want to add highlights to your natural hair. We can mix colors to achieve a stunning result. If it’s necessary to color the roots of the extensions, we can do that as well, although an additional fee will apply.

During the consultation, we’ll go over everything in detail, and I’ll share tips and tricks for maintaining your extensions. As someone who has worn extensions for years, I’m happy to share my knowledge and secrets to help keep your extensions looking beautiful, healthy, and radiant for a long time!
