Extensionist.nl was born from my deep love for beauty and creativity—a passion I’ve had since I was a little girl dreaming of becoming a makeup artist. Fifteen years ago, I took the first big step toward that dream by entering the world of makeup, focusing on weddings and photoshoots. Every second of that work brought me joy. As my reputation grew, I decided to open my own beauty salon. In the early years, I mainly focused on makeup and nails, creating beautiful looks for my clients.

The Introduction of Hair Extensions

Around ten years ago, after receiving countless compliments and requests from clients who admired my own hair, I decided to offer hair extensions. I had been doing my own extensions for years, and their success made it a logical step to add this service to my salon. It allowed me to respond even better to my clients’ wishes and added a new dimension to my work.

The Transition to Permanent Make-up

When it came to my eyebrows, I was always very particular—I wouldn’t let anyone touch them! That’s why I decided to learn the art of permanent make-up myself. I enrolled in a training program to perfect this skill—not just to improve my own brows, but also to understand the process from a client’s perspective. This allowed me to work with extra care and precision.

After completing a two-year masterclass at the Mieke Petiet School in Amsterdam and earning my diploma as a makeup artist, I knew I had found my true calling. Those years were filled with creativity and inspiration. As my skills continued to grow, I naturally transitioned into permanent make-up, with a special focus on eyebrow design. It was a perfect match with my background in makeup.

Today, my salon focuses on hair extensions and eyebrow tattoos. Although my passion for makeup is still alive and well, my heart lies in enhancing natural beauty. Hair extensions and permanent make-up—especially brows and lips—are at the heart of what I do.

How My Hair Extension Journey Began

Naturally, I always had beautiful, thick hair. My hair was black, but as we all know—what you don’t have is what you want. So, of course, I wanted blonde hair. I decided to look for someone who specialized in black hair and found an Iranian woman in The Hague. Unfortunately, it went completely wrong. She burned my scalp, and I lost my beautiful, long hair forever. Since then, my hair has never grown back the same.

I missed my long hair. The shorter hair made me look older, and I felt unhappy. Every time I looked in the mirror, I saw a different woman than the one I wanted to be.

My Search for a Solution

This happened 15 years ago. I started searching for alternatives: wigs, half-wigs, you name it. I tried all kinds of extensions, but I was never truly satisfied. There was always something that didn’t feel right. Eventually, I thought: “Okay, if no one can do it perfectly, then I’ll learn to do it myself.”

And that’s exactly what I did. Now, I’m proud to say that I can make hair extensions myself. I’m an expert at blending colors, so I don’t have to dye my hair all the time. The result? Hair that always looks amazing. I create handmade clip-in extensions that fit perfectly and look full and beautiful. I’m also specialized in professionally installing extensions for others.
