Extensionist.nl was born out of my deep love for beauty and creativity—a passion I’ve had since I was a little girl dreaming of becoming a makeup artist. Fifteen years ago, I took a big step toward that dream by entering the world of makeup, focusing on weddings and photoshoots. I enjoyed every second, and as my reputation grew, I decided to open my own beauty salon. In those early years, I primarily focused on makeup and nails, creating stunning looks for my clients.

About ten years ago, after countless compliments and requests from clients admiring my own hair, I decided to offer hair extensions. I had been doing my own extensions for years, and they were such a success that it made perfect sense to add this service to my salon. This allowed me to better meet my clients’ needs and introduce something new.

When it came to my eyebrows, I was quite stubborn—I didn’t let anyone touch them! So, I decided to learn permanent makeup myself. I enrolled in a school to master the art, not only to perfect my own brows but also to understand the process from a client’s perspective, allowing me to work with extra care and precision.

After completing a two-year masterclass at the Mieke Petiet school in Amsterdam and earning my diploma as a makeup artist, I knew I had found my calling. Those years were some of the most beautiful of my life, filled with creativity and inspiration. As my skills grew, I naturally transitioned to permanent makeup, especially brow design, which perfectly complemented my makeup background.

Today, my salon primarily focuses on hair extensions and eyebrow tattoos, though my passion for makeup is still alive and well. Makeup will always remain a part of what I do, but enhancing natural beauty with hair extensions and permanent makeup—particularly brows and lips—has become the heart of my work. My journey has been driven by passion, creativity, and the desire to make my clients feel their absolute best, and I look forward to continuing to do what I love for many more years to come.

Waterfall Wefts is a popular technique for applying hair extensions that combines elements of sew-in and beaded weft methods. This technique is designed to provide a natural look with minimal damage to the natural hair.

Waterfall Wefts use small beads or microrings, which are placed on sections of the natural hair close to the scalp. These beads are typically coated with silicone to prevent damage to the natural hair. A hair weft (a long strip of hair) is then attached to the beads using thread and a needle, or solely through a beading technique. The wefts are installed in layers, allowing the hair to "fall" naturally and creating a seamless, flowing look that blends perfectly with the natural hair.

The layers can be customized by trimming or blending the wefts to ensure the extensions move naturally and match the client's hair texture and length.
